Google Analytics 4 is free and readily available, but marketers still tend to avoid it as a reporting solution.

 

Here are several reasons why GA4 is not ideal for reporting.

The limitations of GA4 reports are that GA4 allows 25 user-scoped custom dimensions, 50 event-scoped custom, and 50 custom metrics for each property.

You can also use GA4 as a basic Google Analytics goal tracker, setting up key events and conversion tracking to measure how users move through your funnel. But turning those goals into a clean, client-facing report still requires significant manual work.

 

Both options are useful for internal analysis but fall short for client reporting.
