What is the marketing campaign?

Oxford Dictionary defines it as "an organized course of action to promote and sell a product or service".

Okay, but what is a SUCCESSFUL marketing campaign?

Is it sufficient to say that a marketing campaign is successful only if it generates higher revenue for the company? Partially, yes. Personally, I believe that a successful marketing campaign is a campaign that will sincerely touch the customers' hearts, provoke laughter, make a change in customers' life, provide inspiration...

40 data sources

A powerful marketing campaign is so much more than higher sales numbers.

Let's move on to my list of the most powerful marketing campaigns ever!

1. The “Real Beauty” campaign, Dove

The "Real Beauty" campaign from Dove carries a heartfelt message. It points out the disparity between how one perceives himself/herself and how others perceive him/her. Each woman is the subject of two portraits drawn by FBI-trained forensic artist Gil Zamora: one based on her own description, and the other using a stranger’s observations. The results are surprising

Is it possible that we are wonderful?!

2.The "Whassup" campaign, Budweiser

This is definitely one of the most simple yet most powerful marketing campaigns of all time. There is literally no one who can resist saying 'Whassup' after watching this advertisement.

The advertisement starts by answering a phone call while watching a game. The friend on the other side of the call asks 'Whassup?', the guy that watches the game answers 'Watching the game, havin' a Bud (Budweiser). As more and more people join the phone call, the phrase 'Whassup?' echoes more and more in our ears, provoking a hysterical laugh.

This is how one word captured the hearts of many, and this is precisely what makes this campaign unique. Very few advertisements could achieve what Budweiser did with a single word.

3. The "Like a Girl" campaign, Always

A campaign that most definitely speaks to a girl's soul. A campaign that ignites passion, power, desire to 'kick-ass', break the stereotypes, and be yourself. No other descriptions are needed here. I leave it to you to click the link, watch the campaign, and draw inspiration for yourself!

4. The "Year in Search" campaign, Google

For the past several years, Google publishes a video containing the key phrases that people searched for during the year. Google's CEO Sundar Pichai claims, "In 2018, a year of ups and downs, the world searched for "good" more than ever before."

The latest video is an absolute must-watch. It gives a homey feeling, warms the heart, and gives hope for where there is life, and there is hope.

5. The "Thank you, Mom!" campaign, Procter & Gamble

Take a deep breath, calm yourself down, and dry your tears! I know how deeply this advertisement can touch a person!

Who would have guessed that an advertisement for household and cleaning products can be so emotional? Not so many. However, the P&G company identified the mothers of the world-class athletes as the key factor of their children's success. After all, "It takes someone strong to make someone strong!".

40+ data

And, plus we can assume that the mothers of athletes supported their sons and daughters on their road to success by doing mountains of laundry and cleaning after them with the help of the P&G products.

6. The "Man Your Man Could Smell Like" campaign, Old Spice

In a word, HILARIOUS!

An excellent example of how a company can create an unforgettable advertisement using a funny script.

Guys, what are you waiting for? Go and get an Old Spice deodorant! Make your girl happy!

7. The "Christmas Miracle" campaign, WestJet

I bet you want to fly with WestJet airlines now! Yeah, we are on the same page!

Every customer wants a company that makes his/her wish come true. Customers stay loyal to these kinds of companies. Good job, WestJet!

P.S. We all feel bad for the guy whose wish was: socks and pants. Gotta aim high in life!

8. The "Find you Greatness" campaign, Nike

Ready to go outside and do something great?

Well, I definitely do!

This is what a great marketing campaign is all about. It should move people, challenge them, and motivate them. Nike, you got all the checkmarks!

9. The "Share a Coke" campaign, Coca Cola

Why is this campaign so successful?

Well, let's be honest. Every customer craves a personalized experience. Drinking Coke may or may not be fun for everyone, but drinking Coke with your own name on the bottle is something that most of us find amusing. Go ahead, deny what I just said. But you cannot fool me. We have all been there, sitting with our friends, drinking a bottle of Coke with our name on it, and to be honest, it felt quite pleasant.

As Dale Carnegie, an author of the book How to Win Friends and Influence People, once said, "Remember that a person's name is, to that person, the sweetest and most important sound in any language.”

Coca Cola definitely took Dale's advice seriously, and it paid off.

10. The "Invisible Car" campaign, Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes- Benz definitely caught the attention of many people in Germany with this campaign. I know for a fact that if I were to see an invisible car driving around the city, I would have been speechless.

A great campaign to advertise cars that do not significantly impact the environment!
